Get background information on your topic from an online reference book.
Go to https://www.ccm.edu/student-support/library/ Click on Library Start Page.
You may also just go directly to the Library Start Page at ccm.libguides.com/Library
Once on the Library Start Page, click on Assignments.
Click on Database List.
Scroll down and click on Literature, Gale --- Previously Literary Sources
Enter your Username (lastname.firstname) and your Password (ccm plus 7 digit student ID)
Click on Advanced Search
In the third box, "Person by or about”, type in your author and click on SEARCH.
(Example = Ezra Jack Keats, the author of the Caldecott Medal winning picture book, The Snowy Day)
From the results list, click on the link to "Biographies"
Click on the title of a reference book article and print or save the entry.
Find information on your book and discover similar books in a library database.
Go to https://www.ccm.edu/student-support/library/ Click on Library Start Page.

Once on the Library Start Page, click on Assignments.
Click on Database List.
Click on NOVELIST K-8
Enter your CCM username and password when prompted
Type in your topic and click Search. (Example = Climate Change).
Click on the title of the book, and scroll down for reading level information.
Click on the tab for Reviews and More About This Book.
Scroll to the bottom, and review "Search for More", to find similar Subjects, Genre or Tone.
