Find scholarly journal articles in the online databases

DIRECTIONS

Find scholarly articles on your topics in the library databases.

Go to www.ccm.edu/library  and click on ARTICLES & DATABASES

Scroll down and click on the following database: 

PsycARTICLES

Enter your Username and Password when prompted by the proxy server login box

Limit to Full text, enter your topic and search.

Example: Depression

From the results page, on the left, you may choose limiters, such as: 

Publication Date = 2010 to 2020 

Put a check in the box for "Peer-reviewed Journals"

Age =  Adolescence

Methodology = Empirical Study

Optional:  If you still have too many results, you can also choose a topic under the Subject limiter

Click on the Title of an article of interest

Note the Following Fields:

Authors & Affiliations

The Source (The name of the Journal that published this article) 

The Abstract (Or summary of the article)

The Publication History (Submission, Revision and Publication Dates)

The Digital Object Identifier (or, DOI number, needed for the citation)

On the right side, click on the CITE icon for a DRAFT of an APA citation.

On the left side, look for the PDF of the full text article and click on it

From the Adobe Acrobat Reader page, read the article.   Click the down arrow to save it to your computer or flash drive.
