October 29, 2024:  Date application must be received if applying for a vote-by-mail ballot by mail

November 4, 2024 at 3 p.m.:  Deadline to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot in person at the County Clerk's office

November 5, 2024 ELECTION DAY (6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.):  Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked by this date or placed in a ballot drop box

Request your mail-in ballot at:

You have until 8 p.m. on Election Day to return your ballot to the Board of Elections in person or deposit it in one of your county’s secure authorized ballot drop boxes. You can also mail your ballot, it must be postmarked on or before 8:00 p.m. of election day.

Once you request your mail-in ballot:

  • The ballot will be mailed to you 1 to 2 months prior to the election day with a pre-paid first class return envelope.  
  •  When your ballot arrives, read it carefully and follow the instructions to complete it and return it.  

  • To the extent possible, each county shall have at least a total of ten (10) secure ballot drop boxes in addition to being able to mail them through the U.S. Postal Service.  
  • Ballots can be returned by mail with a postmark on or before election day to be counted as a valid ballot by the County Clerk if received by 8:00 p.m. on the 6th day after the election. 
  • Ballots without a postmark and ballots mismarked and confirmed by the post office that those ballots were received by the post office on or before election day, and that is received by the County Boards of Elections from the United States Postal Service within one hundred and forty-four (144) hours (6 days) of the closing of polls on election day, shall be considered valid and shall be canvassed, assuming the ballot meets all other statutory requirements.

Ballots are due:

8:00 p.m. on Election Day at polling location or in ballot box

Mailed ballots must be postmarked before 8:00 p.m. of election day.
