International Business: Assignments

Find current information about your company.

• Search Business Insights: Global (by GALE).  
  • ​Go to www.ccm.edu/library
  • Click Articles and Databases
  • Click Business Insights Global and enter CCM username and password if prompted
  • Type in the name of the company or ticker symbol
• Click on the record for the parent company (the parent co. will display its Ticker symbol after the name) and access the Company Profile .
• Profiles will contain a company overview, history, officers, products, competitors, financials, news and sometimes an industry analysis and a SWOT report.

Find current information about your company.

• Search Nexis Uni (by Lexis Nexis).  
  • ​Go to www.ccm.edu/library
  • Click Articles and Databases
  • Click Nexis and enter CCM username and password if prompted
  • Scroll to the bottom and click on the photo by Business, under Discover Topics
  • Click Find a Company
• Type in the full name of the company (no abbreviations)  next to Company Name, or choose ticker symbol from the drop down menu
  • Click Search
  • Click on the Parent Company link
  • The Nexis Dossier Report for the Company will appear
  • Navigate using the table of contents on the left side.
  • Review company information, financial overview, news, industry overview etc

Find scholarly articles that use original research.

• Search Wall Street Journal.
  • Go to www.ccm.edu/library
  • Click Articles and Databases
  • Click Wall Street Journal and enter CCM username and password if prompted
• Click on Advanced Search. Enter a company name or a country name.
• Limit the date range to the previous year.  Search.
• Click on the full text link to retrieve the whole article.

• Go to www.ccm.edu/library
• Click Articles and Databases
• Click Lexi Nexis and enter your CCM username/passsword
• Under "Guided Search" , click on the box for "A Publication"
• Under "Search for Something Specific", type in the name of your company
• Under "Find Publication", type in "New York Times" and select "The New York Times" from the autofill suggestions
• Click Search
• On the results page, click "Timeline" on the left side, and limit the results to the current year
• Click on an article title and Print, Email or Download it
• If you choose to "Export Citation", treat it as only a draft. (There are often errors in the citations here; they must be edited)

• Search Country Watch
  • Go to www.ccm.edu/library
  • Click Articles and Databases
  • Click Country Watch and enter your CCM username and password if prompted
• On the right side, in the Country Reviews box, Select the name of the country from the drop-down menu.
• Click on the headings for the political, economic, investment, social and environmental overviews on the left.
