Government Documents Resources: Home

Links to U. S. Government Sites

This guide is a collection of links to publicly available information from United States government sites.  These resources contain official publications and information authored and kept up to date by the federal and NJ state governments.  Each topic listed in the tabs above contains lists of government links for that topic.

If you are unsure as to whether a specific dataset is available, check the following site to see if the data is still collected and available to the public:

If the data is not listed there, check the specific agency listed in this guide to see if the data is available or has been relocated.  If the data is truly missing, you can try using several archival resources to locate it that are listed on the right.

Archived Government Data

This is one of the largest archives of internet sites with more than 946 billion web pages saved over time.  You can search for government information on the Collection Search selecting .gov PDFs.  Also, you can take any .gov URL and add wayback.com right after .gov, and you'll be redirected to the Wayback Machine's archived version of the page.  If you are citing this information, please use the Internet Archive direct URL.  For additional information visit:

Data Rescue Project

The Data Rescue Tracker is maintained by the Data Rescue Project whose goal is to save government data that is at risk. The tracker is designed to identify who has archived the data and to avoid duplicate efforts.
