What about supplemental materials?
Accompanying materials such as test banks, problem sets, instructor guides, and courseware are available for some OER texts, free or at a low cost for students.
Does using OER affect transferability of courses?
No. Per CCM's Transfer Services Office, using OER has no effect on 4-year colleges accepting transfers.
Open Educational Resources are free because they are either in the public domain, or are covered by a Creative Commons license. A CC license grants users the freedom to use materials in various ways depending on the type of license.
