Health Psychology -- Prof. Sullivan: Searching the Databases

Psychology OneFile: Search for articles from magazines and peer-reviewed journals in this database focused on psychology.

1. Go to www.ccm.edu/library
2. Click on Library Start Page
3. Click on Assignments
4. Click on Database List
5. Scroll down to find Psychology, OneFile -- Previously Psychology Collection.
6. If off campus, the proxy server will pop up. Log in with your CCM credentials.
7. Search your topic.
8. Notice the tabs for Magazines and Academic Journals at the top of the page.
9. Optional:  Under the Document Type Box on the left side of the results page, select "Book Review".
10. Send articles of interest to yourself. If emailing the articles, include the APA citation in the message of the email.

PsychArticles, APA: Search for articles in this psychology-focused databases that offers full-text peer-reviewed articles that have been published by the American Psychological Association and affiliated journals.

5. Scroll down to find PsychArticles, APA -- Previously PsychARTICLES (Full-text Journals)
6. If off campus, the proxy server will pop up. Log in with your CCM credentials.
7. Search your topic.
8. Notice that Psycharticles results are academic journals.  For magazines, add in another database by following the step below.
9. Optional:  Above the search box, click on "Choose Databases".  Put a check in the box of "Masterfile" as well as "Psycharticles".  Click OK.  Then, type in a keyword for your topic (such as "habits") , followed by the phrase "and book review".  Click search and review the full text results.  Example:  habits and book review.
10. Send articles of interest to yourself. If emailing the articles, remember to fill the dot to include a citation and choose APA 7th Edition (American Psychological Assoc.) from the list.
